Audrey's silver bells were given to her by William Scuttle, who got them from Master Oldnose's Green Mouse finery while helping decorate for the Great Spring Celebration. Audrey loved the bells and from then on always wore them on her tail. One of them was lost while Audrey was returning home from Fennywolde on 14 July. It was Baffles Day, when small trinkets are more disposed to disappear than at any other time of the year.
The missing bell was eventually found by Kempe the pedlar, who planned to return it to Audrey when he came back to the Skirtings. However, he was murdered by the spirit of Jupiter before he could do so.
