Burning the Bogie is a holiday celebrated by mice on 5 November by making effigies of enemies or merely those who are resented, which are then paraded from door to door before being ceremoniously set alight atop a bonfire. The Skirtings mice always used to make an image of Master Oldnose, but presently Jupiter is the favourite subject.

Trivia[]

  • This celebration is inspired by and takes place on the same day as the real life Guy Fawkes Night (also known as Bonfire Night). It too involves the burning of effigies, specifically those depicting Gunpowder Plot participant Fawkes.
