Mahtild Gromyn was a mouse who lived in the forest with her husband Pountfrey.
Role in The Oaken Throne[]
Pountfrey and Mahtild were out collecting firewood when Ysabelle, Vespertilio, Giraldus, and Tysle encountered them. They explained to the group that while some woodlanders had taken up arms and moved out to fight the Hobbers, the two of them refused to do so.
Giraldus attempted to convince Pountfrey and Mahtild to join the traveling company, but the mice didn't listen to him.
When Hobbers chased the travelers through the forest later, Pountfrey's severed head was tossed into the path in front of them. Mahtild's fate was never revealed, but it can be assumed that she was likely murdered as well.
