The Deptford Mice is an unproduced film based on the book trilogy of the same name by Robin Jarvis. It was to have been made by Jim Henson Pictures and was reported as being in production during the mid-1990s. Darlene Craviotto wrote the screenplay, which was largely based on the first book, The Dark Portal. According to Craviotto, the characters were to be animatronic puppets from Jim Henson's Creature Shop. The reasons for the film's cancellation are unknown, but Craviotto says that she never believed that the project was a favorite one for Jim's son Brian Henson, who led the company.
