Tysle Day is a shrew holiday which takes place on 11 August and honours the memory of Tysle Symkyn. He is the greatest hero of their kind and on this day they act out 'Hobble Plays' which are the highlight of the shrew year. To be picked for the lead in these performances is a great honour. All the shrews wear Mole Strings as part of the festivities.
